INFO doctor strange, md, phd, master of the mystic arts, former sorcerer supreme, former keeper of the time stone. tl;dr: an arrogant and talented neurosurgeon who ruined his hands in a devastating car crash, and turned to learning magic to try to heal them, only to wind up choosing duty and protecting reality from paranormal threats & incursions from other dimensions, rather than returning to his old life.

CANON POINT oocly up-to-date with all mcu movies & disney plus shows. ic canon point can fluctuate, but is most likely to be circa no way home & multiverse of madness. i’m also totally game for multiversal AUs or writing strange supreme from what if or sinister strange from multiverse of madness. no familiarity with the comics (yet!).

BACKTAGGING always yes! i can be incredibly slow and will backtag into forever.

WRITING STYLE present-tense prose vaguely preferred, but i’ll happily match brackets.

PHYSICAL CONTACT no, thank you. he’ll politely limit himself to a firm handshake or the occasional clap on the shoulder.

MENTAL CONTACT yes; any psychic would also be able to pick up that strange’s brain is abuzz with magical energy. he has some mental defenses & wards, but they’re not impermeable.

FIGHTING/INJURY he doesn’t like to do it, but he’s well-versed in magical combat by now.

WRITING INTERESTS

• dr strange as the very tired, exasperated dad friend on multiversal cleanup. plunged into the role of accidental surrogate paternal figure to a bunch of shambolic scooby doo kids (hi, spideys).
• combating cosmic horrors, and dipping deeper into the well of magical threats & other mcu magic-users (e.g. wanda, loki, sylvie). further teamups with the avengers, or working with other cross-canon characters likely to get involved in this field, justice league dark-style. i adore the video game marvel’s midnight suns, so something riffing on that setting would also be great; found family fighting demons and living together in a spooky haunted abbey, stephen and tony squabbling in the basement, etc.
• tragic or comedic or tragicomic time loops, particularly in the vein of his what if? episode. other what ifs & AUs welcome (it’s all multiverse, baby).
• teammates & slow-burn ships, and i’m a glutton for tropey shippy nonsense. domesticity around the sanctum sanctorum, or avengers compound with a bit of handwaving.
• both tongue-in-cheek silly magical shenanigans & gory paranormal horror alike, i can run the gamut. also love nightmares & dreamscapes.
• specific mcu cr: very into exploring his dynamic with wanda as a fellow magic-user and how they can learn from each other and both learn to piece themselves together; also exploring stark & strange as two opposite sides of the same coin who are far too similar, and how science and magic bounce off each other.
• cross-canon esp with other sorcerers, witches, paranormal creatures, comparing systems of magic across canons, etc. happy to au into other settings if i’m canon-familiar enough.
