📅 TIMELINE
1976
NOVEMBER 18 → Stephen Vincent Strange born while his parents were vacationing in Philadelphia, but then grows up on their farm in Nebraska. Scorpio ♏
1988
Age 12. His younger sister Donna drowned at age 10 while the two of them were playing on a lake.
1994
Age 18-22: Left his family & rural roots behind, and moved to New York for four years of pre-med.
1998
Age 22-26: Four years of medical school at Columbia University. Did his MD & PhD at the same time, because he’s insane.
2002
Age 26-27: One-year internship in general surgery.
2003
Age 27-32: Five-year residency (post-graduate training) in a neurosurgery program. These are typically 5-7 years, but he finished faster than most because, again, he is insane.
Stephen’s mother Beverly died near the end of his residency. Two years later, his father Eugene also fell ill and died; Stephen did not visit the deathbed.
His younger brother, Victor, confronted him in his apartment over Stephen’s apparent lack of grief. Following the confrontation, Victor rushed from the apartment and into the path of an oncoming car.
All of this was A Lot, because tragic comic book backstories are So Much. He poured himself into his work.

FEBRUARY 2 → Age 40. Near-fatal car crash. Lost use of his hands and spent 3 months in recovery.
MAY → Out of money after successive surgeries, went to Kamar-Taj, sought a cure. Spent the rest of the year in magical training before fighting Kaecilius & Dormammu, dying in a timeloop a few hundred times, and ultimately taking on the mantle of Sorcerer Supreme.
